Re: USPS going down

Don't think it's the USPS that doesn't want to make drastic changes, it's Congress that's tying their hands behind their backs.

Re: Facebook Fate

New stock price low at $28.65 today. And we've yet to see shareholders who can't unload till their 3-month and 6-month lock-up periods are lifted. :p

I concur as well, sad to hear of this news. She will be missed. Sympathies and prayers to her family.

Re: Rail Transit

Re-striping to create additional lanes (forsaken emergency lanes) and expanding the zipperlane will only do so much for the existing H1. Without any change in way of transportation, there will be the...

Re: Rail Transit

Again, I never said building rail will replace existing roads which should answer your first question. But to answer it more directly, roads of course will need to be built and maintained. I've...

Re: Rail Transit

Why just only at the city and county level for road funding? Do the city roads work the way they should without connecting to roads funded by state and fed funds? Even the rail project, while it is a...

Re: Rail Transit

Based on?

Has anyone here ever looked into how much money goes into roads at the federal and state level? Just wondering if people have objectively looked into it.

Re: oceanic tv remote adjust

Do you happen to know what model is your Oceanic remote? This may help to identify if the Oceanic remote can or cannot control the TV picture settings.

Re: Disappearing businesses

I would have suggested simply contracting the name and making OSH as the official name going forward to help overcome it's farming roots. KFC comes to mind with that marketing play. Orchard Supply...

Re: Disappearing businesses

They kinda did with OSH, problem is, they already spun it off as a separate entity. I think the head of Sears corp at this point is looking to simply to milk it and fatten his own account because OSH...

Don't forget Zippy's which has been a fixture next to the auto center for years.

Actually, this is also a decision Sears mgmt wanted to take. Because of horrible losses, they are looking...

Re: Disappearing businesses

Sounds like GGP wants to divy up the space for smaller retailers because they can command higher lease premiums. Otherwise, I think it be interesting if they get someone like Ikea in there....

Re: Disappearing businesses

Looks like Sears (http://www.kitv.com/r/30530841/detail.html) at AMC will be winding down early next year.

Any guess on what replacements? Sounds like GGP wants smaller retailers in place.

Re: Honda dealer reviews

Spot on, in many ways, its even more powerful than a wad of cash because chances are, the dealer's gonna look at your cash with suspicion (fake bills?) whereas an auto loan check from a well known...

Re: Uninsured motorists in C&C of Honolulu

An increase in gas thefts corresponding to an increase in gas prices is well documented so I wouldn't call this a red herring, rather a legitimate concern. I'm all for finding solutions to the...

I'm actually not aware of any new car these days without a fuel door that isn't released by a button/level inside the car. But theft of gas can occur low tech style which is having someone puncture...

Re: Uninsured motorists in C&C of Honolulu

This would require a more indepth assessment. How many accidents happen on Oahu each year and what would be the max payout on basic liability? Then, what is the annual amount of gas sales on Oahu....
