The cat died sometime during the night. Poor kitty...I made him as comfortable as possible and he just sort of drifted away. Now I have to figure out what kind of funeral he'll get.

The rain stopped and the creek didn't rise any higher. So far, so good.

The rooftiles probably came loose during the last windstorm. For now there are buckets catching the leaks, and in the morning I'll have to fight my way into the cluttered attic and see if I can put the rooftiles back in place or replace them if they're broken. I can do it from the inside, as theyre is no insulation, just the tiles, between us and outside. Good thing, too...as this house is a very tall three stories and I have a fear of heights.

                      Poor darling...
I've lost too many kitties to count, and each is a tragedy.
Floods, storms, et. al., are nefarious forces we must resist.

Remember: they WILL pass, and you can recover.
Losing loved ones (felines) is something else. Burial, creamation, whatever, - do what's best.
I have seven kitties in a row between the roots or my snow bushes in my front yard.
                      Naturally we 'planted' lovers side-by-side....

As a kid, I can still remember the look of our cat's eyes when he was runned over by a car. Cats are supposed to have no expression, but he had sadness in his eyes that he was going to die. He would usually climb on your knee to be petted when you sit next to him.

Oooooooh! That made me cry! Losing a beloved pet is such a horrible thing to endure, and making that decision to let them go is even harder.... I cried daily for a year, for my dog.

Susie, what town is this? Is this happening everywhere near your home, or did a levee break, river overflow? Floods are so devastating, and I've just been lucky where I live. I feel bad for everyone affected. Please update us when you can.
