  • Best Meat Jun on the WW side?

An expat friend is coming to visit and I've practically promised a meat jun (juhn?) fix when we meet for lunch.

I know Yummy's makes it, and that's fine, but I know people who post on this site are as serious about good food (not necessarily just da upscale kine) as I am.

I'm looking specifically for an AWESOME meat jun served in Kailua or Kaneohe.

So -- please either post your recommendations for all to enjoy, or e-mail them to me at erikaengle at gmail.com ... up to you.

I look forward to reading --- and eating! Thanks folks!

It's probably the answer everyone expects someone to give, but you really can't go wrong with Kim Chee 1 in Kaneohe.

      Kim Chee I, definately.

      Also consider
      Chun's Bar-B-Q House
      46-003 Alaloa
      Ph: 247-1765

Chun's is located just behind Windward Mall, on the corner of Kahuhipa and Alaloa st., in the same complex as Nanko Fishing Supply.

Nicely battered Meat Jun ($6.50) and excellent barbecued (not griddled) Kal Bi ($15). All the usual pickled veggies, including very flavorful and spicey Kim Chee.. not the watered-out 'kine. Good portions. Full service restaurant.

I got, via e-mail, another one for Kim Chee 1 -- WITH PICTURES!
        (Yummy looking pictures, too.)

The mention of the barbecued, versus griddled aspect of Kal Bi at Chun's was also very appealing. I may let the visitor decide ... but two choices is not an overwhelming number to pick from and they're each close, so if one is busy ...

        Thanks so much!!!

Pomai, all that description does is makes me hungry.
I'm disgusted and repulsed, and I can't look away.
