  • Honolulu Prosecutor: Carlisle v. Kaneshiro

Okay, I admit. I'm about as up to speed on the City Prosecutor's race as I am the various campaigns for the Board of Education.

Carlisle is the incumbent, and Kaneshiro is the former officeholder who wants back in. And -- at least according to Kaneshiro -- SHOPO, the HPD officers' union -- wants him back in too. Carlisle is seeking his third term; after a short stint with the state, Kaneshiro went private sector after leaving the post in 1996.

Enlighten me. Who stands for what? How different are their records? Obviously they both profess to be "tough on crime." Are they really?

I was volunteering as a video camera person at the Okinawa Festival for 2 days. Mr. Kaneshiro was there both days and got sun burned.
I forgot what he told me that he is the chair, co-chair or something related to Okinawa Festival.
I don't know who stands for what, I don't know their records either.
    Does anybody know?
    Love, Lillian Hong
