  • The Bus's new HEA system

A driver was happy to tell me about this new 'in the works' system last night, that enables riders to dial up the location/s of prospective buses to use. It hasn't been officially announced and it will probably become more advanced with time.
This has long been a bus rider's dream, allowing us to know exactly where our desired bus is located en route and if it's actually coming or broke down. http://hea.thebus.org You can use any number of hand held devices to access the site's info.
    Hea means where.

a driver told me the other day that there is an IPhone app that will give that same info. too bad I don't have an IPhone

(oops - i guess i should have read your whole post before opening my mouth. he did say it connected to the Bus website for the info. sorry.)

Wow. That's pretty cool. Here's the view for the bus stop at the corner of Kapahulu and Kuhio avenues. It lists buses that come by, both the ones you've just missed and the ones on their way. It's got a simplified display that will look good on any mobile device with a web browser (but it does look pretty snazzy on an iPhone).

        Very cool. Kudos to TheBus.

A quick check at the iTunes store says that there is an iPhone app called "Hawaii Envi" that looks like it uses this information. It's from a third-party travel company, though.

Re: The Bus's new HEA system

hi,my apologie's for posting this here only when i was going to my dentist,i got off across the iolani palace and then caught the ala moana bus and when i entered the bus,i thought most bus driver's were kind only this bus driver when i asked if he was heading to ala moana,he said yeah and asked me to move along with an unkind voice and so after my dentist visit,

i took the kailua bus to alakea and when i got off,i waited for the no 13 liliha bus and it took almost half an hour and then another no 13 was in the back of the school st bus and then that bus passed us and when we got up to the park,we went and that bus waited for a couple of minute's and then i saw that bus come up while i was on my way home so this is a reason when voting,

i wont vote for the person who truly want's to kill rail.

              Well thank's for your time

I give you credit for not rolling your eyes at the rude bus driver.

Just be glad you didn't get a sweet F U, for nothing, like I did a week ago from a jerk bus driver.
I'll give The Bus complaint mgmt. credit for not blowing off my 'in person' complaint but actually seemed concerned and pursuant of the matter.
