    Defiance

    went and saw this yesterday at a matinee in keauhou. I hadnt heard anything about it and was quite surprised how good it was.
    a story about russian jews hiding and defending themselves in the forests during ww2. well worth a watch.
    the bigger the government the smaller the citizen.

    It's by Ed Zwick, whose groove in filmmaking is examining the stresses placed by combat and military tradition. His films include GLORY, THE SIEGE, THE LAST SAMURAI and COURAGE UNDER FIRE.
    But you probably know him best for his TV series "30 Something."
