WISH LIST Musical entertainment, PA system with electrical back up such as generators. (Please call Auntie Lynn 847-2221)

FAST FOOD GIFT CERTIFICATES or grocery store gift certificates to give people when we either run out of food or when they need food after we are not serving. We could also very much use Sams Club or Costco gift cards to help us with purchasing some of our year round operating supplies, like cups, bags, cheese, lunch meat, etc..

Biggest wish is to someday have a place of our own that has a full sized kitchen and storage. That way we can operate and store everything we have in one place.

Anything at all u can help with let us know and we can mark it off our need list.

If u would like to make any kind of monetary donations that would be great too! We operate all year round. U can go to any Bank Of Hawaii and make a deposit under the Kau Kau Wagon donation Account. We are a non profit and u will get a receipt u can use for ur taxes.

    MAHALO!!!!!

Our Christmas of Hope will be Saturday Dec. 27. 2008
It will be very similar to our Thanksgiving of Hope. We will need lots of help at that time including tons of home cooking.

We will also be joining with Aunty Lynn Friday Dec.19th, 2008 7pm at Mayor Wrights Housing for that Christmas event. We will do hot dogs, chili and rice, cheese, shave ice, juice. We will be seeking out toys, clothing, canned goods, and many other items. Last year was excellent. Hope it will be just as great this year!

We will be bringing our 4 legged certified licensed service Great Dane Grand Dad and Grand pup team to visit a few many places including some of the nursing homes on the Island. For that part we will post the dates shortly. We'll be looking for more stuffed animals, fresh flowers, books, or other items to bring cheer to those away from home. No food items at this time are being requested. Most important is a friendly smile, a warm hand shake or hug. Our babies will bring lost of their love.

If u have some ideas that u want to share to add that we may be able to use. Call me or e-mail me. We can and do make a difference.

Like I said going to be a very busy few months ahead but together we can make it happen! For every heart we can bring a smile to is priceless!

Hope u all have a wonderful weekend!

    MAHALO

It is best if you can drop off your donation that morning (the Sat. after Thanksgiving) after around 11 ish at the corner of Bethel and Hotel St. We usually have volunteers ready to accept the donations as you drive up. You may want to check with Sharon first to see what she is still in need of...I know that we will have enough turkey but she is still looking for a lot more items. You may email her at kaukauwagon@aol.com. Thanks for your interest in helping out!!

It's amazing how things come full circle. When we first moved here ~ we called 211 and through there found out about this cause. The streets are the same intersections. We ended up lost and made it there as things were getting cleaned up.

As life goes ~ my DH and I never made it back there to help. We found different causes to support and have been doing that since we have been on island.

Thanks for the email. I will contact her to see what the needs are.

That IS amazing how life comes full circle many times. If you don't hear back from Sharon aka Kalona in the next few days, please message me and I will see what I can find out for you.

I DO know that she has all the veggies, rolls, whipped cream, coffee, drinks, shave ice syrups, and paper goods for the Thanksgiving of Hope event. She still needs people to prepare stuffing (she has a bunch of it in boxes that you can arrange to pick up), as well as donations of pies, tables, tarps, generators, toiletries, fresh fruits, books, magazines, clothing items (especially XL and bigger sizes...both men and women), and gift certificates/cards from fast food places. After this event, she'll be sending out another list of items needed as we get closer to both Aunty Lynn's Slippah Project and the Christmas of Hope events.

I know this sound kinda obvious, but have you contacted Dick Grimm at the Food Bank to see what they can help with? I know it's a super busy time for them but it's worth a shot.

One more thing. I'll be back in the islands next week and we don't have anything planned for Saturday before we gotta fly back to Oregon on Sunday, and my lady and I want to know if we can lend a hand. We'll be at the Hawaiiana on Beach Walk, and my phone is 971 219 1940 if you can use a couple of volunteers.
