  • Beginner's Ukulele?

Aloha... I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. I am currently looking for a 'ukulele that I can play some songs with and take lessons. Any suggestions where to look? I am looking at buying a 'ukulele that is under $100 but I know that it is impossible. I even checked in costco about a month ago and they were selling a 'ukulele for $90.

    hi achow,

my friend bought an uke from costco last year when they lived here, san diego.

unfortunately, i don't recall the name of the manufacturer - they make guitars, too.

it sounded good but after upgrading the strings to augilla the bugga woke up!!!

    do you recall the manufacturer.

i started with a vineyard and it was okay.

when i last visited oahu in july 06, i ordered a kamaka concert - very nice.

of course, i meet auntie lynn that same week - free plug for auntie!!!

i looking for a tenor sized uke and will go kamaka, koaloha, g-string or kanike'a.

you should have no problem picking up an uke in the price range you are looking.

also, do a search for ukulele on ebay... there's a vendor there - music guy mic - that is out of hawaii and has some good stuff.

    good hunting!!!

if you get serious you'll be looking for ukes that are more than $100 - doh!!!
